Yielding and Ultimate Deformations of Wide and Deep Reinforced Concrete Beams

چکیده
Current formulations proposed by Eurocode 8 part 3 for the inelastic deformations of existing reinforced concrete members are assessed separately wide beams (WB) and conventional deep (DB). The current approach, based on a large experimental database members, predicts larger ultimate chord rotation but lower ductility WB rather than DB despite similar curvature ductility, due to plastic hinge lengths in WB. However, if data disaggregated into WB, predicted rotations consistently conservative not compared with values, especially at deformation. Thus, length may be even greater comparison Therefore, some feasible corrections proposed, order reduce bias thus increase robustness model cross-section shape variability.

deep beams are type of beams which their behavior is different from conventional beams because of their particular type of geometry. in this paper, the retrofitting of these beams is considered and 10 deep beams are tested experimentally and discussed about retrofitting methods. experimental studies indicate that the use of cfrp bands in the direction perpendicular to diagonal cracks in compari...
متن کاملStrut Deformation in CFRP-Strengthened Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams
Strut-and-tie model (STM) method evolved as one of the most useful designs for shear critical structures and discontinuity regions (D-regions). It provides widespread applications in the design of deep beams as recommended by many codes. The estimation of bottle-shaped strut dimensions, as a main constituent of STM, is essential in design calculations. The application of carbon fibre reinforced...
متن کاملAdaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System Models for Predicting the Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams
A reinforced concrete member in which the total span or shear span is especially small in relation to its depth is called a deep beam. In this study, a new approach based on the Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is used to predict the shear strength of reinforced concrete (RC) deep beams. A constitutive relationship was obtained correlating the ultimate load with seven mechanical a...
